The American Planning Association (APA) Inland Empire Chapter recognized Menifee’s efforts for strategic initiatives critical to shaping the city’s future.
The Economic Development team received two prestigious Excellence Awards from APA, honoring two major planning initiatives: the city’s Placemaking, Unique Identity, and Tourism Master Plan and its Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS).
Menifee’s Placemaking, Unique Identity, and Tourism Master Plan received APA’s Excellence Award in the Planning Excellence category. Developed in collaboration with the city’s Community Development and Community Services Departments, alongside Hunden Partners, this plan serves as a roadmap to attract investment, support local businesses, expand tourism opportunities, and create unique spaces that enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors.
Menifee’s CEDS earned APA’s Excellence Award in the Resilience and Sustainability category. Prepared in partnership with RGS, Inc., the strategy outlines a clear and actionable vision for Menifee’s economic future through targeted industry attraction, workforce development, infrastructure investment, placemaking, and the creation of high-quality, mortgage-paying jobs.
“With the development of the city’s Placemaking, Unique Identity, and Tourism Master Plan and Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy, Menifee continues to be a city planned with purpose and primed for opportunity,” Economic Development Director Kayla Charters said. “These efforts will help transform our city, helping us build a strong strategic foundation for future generations and position Menifee as a regional economic powerhouse.”
