Two Menifee Police officers were involved in an on-duty crash involving two civilian vehicles Saturday evening while responding to an emergency, the Menifee Police Department reported.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:44 p.m. at the intersection of Scott Road and Menifee Road. The officers were traveling in a single patrol vehicle while responding to an assist fire call when the collision occurred as they crossed the intersection.
The collision involved the patrol vehicle and two civilian vehicles.
Cal Fire and American Medical Response responded and provided medical aid. The officers and the occupants of the two civilian vehicles were transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation as a precaution, the Menifee Police Department reported.
The California Highway Patrol responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation. The intersection remained closed while investigators processed the scene. The collision remains under investigation.
