The Mt. San Jacinto Community College District Board of Trustees has named longtime college leader Dr. Roger W. Schultz Superintendent/President Emeritus, recognizing his 25 years of service to MSJC and a legacy that will continue through more than $120,000 raised in his honor to support students and his lasting impact on the institution and the community it serves.

The Board approved the emeritus designation at its August 13 meeting.

Schultz, who retired in June 2026, served MSJC for 25 years, including 18 years as superintendent/president. During his tenure, Schultz guided MSJC through a period of significant growth and transformation.

“Dr. Schultz’s leadership has left a lasting mark on Mt. San Jacinto College and the communities we serve,” Tom Ashley, president of MSJC Board of Trustees, said. “The title of superintendent/president emeritus recognizes not only his years of dedicated service, but the impact of his leadership and his enduring commitment to our students and this institution.”

The emeritus recognition follows the successful conclusion of the Dr. Roger W. Schultz Legacy Fund campaign, established by the MSJC Foundation in honor of Schultz’s retirement. Launched with a $100,000 fundraising goal, the campaign surpassed that target, raising more than $120,000 through contributions from community partners, businesses, college employees, and individual supporters.

“I am deeply honored by this recognition and grateful for the opportunity I had to serve MSJC and our communities for 25 years,” Schultz said. “What means the most to me is knowing that the work continues and that the generosity shown through the Legacy Fund will create opportunities for students for years to come.”
