Ralph Leslie Kroll, 49, was arrested on October 8 for a crime police say he committed 25 years ago.

In October 1995, an 18-year-old female victim was attacked by a stranger when she was walking in the 8800 block of Indiana Avenue. The suspect forced her into a nearby apartment complex where he committed a sexual assault.

Investigative leads were exhausted and the case remained cold until DNA evidence was able to identify the suspect. Detectives submitted the case to the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office and an arrest warrant was issued for Kroll.

Kroll was arrested at his home in Eastvale and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for charges of rape by force, kidnapping, and the use of a deadly weapon by a sex offender. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail. Kroll is schedule to appear in court on December 1, according to jail records
