Bassmasters Club announces February tournament winners

Twenty-seven anglers in 14 boats participated in the Canyon Lake Bassmasters Club’s January tournament. Keith Bridges and Steve Baker took first place with a total fish weight of 17.02 lbs.

The team of Jim Wright and Kirk Beardsley came in second place with a total fish weight of 14.63 lbs. Nolan Cromwell and Danny Batinich reeled in third place with five fish weighing a total of 13.31 lbs.

The “Big Fish” title went to Shannon Perkins, who caught a bass weighing 5.98 lbs.

Each team is limited to five fish. All fish are released back into the lake after being weighed.

Tournaments are held on the first Saturday that follows the monthly meeting. Tournaments are held from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Summer tournaments are held from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Canyon Lakers who like to fish and want to improve their skills in a friendly, competitive environment are invited to join the Bassmasters. For membership information, contact Travis Smith at 951-525-7550.
