With a total fish weight of 19.54 lbs., Danny Batinich and Kirk Beardsley reeled in first place in the Canyon Lake Bassmasters Club monthly tournament on Saturday.
Travis Smith and Greg Szuba came in second place with a total fish weight of 18.38 lbs. Smith reeled in the biggest fish of the tournament, a bass weighing 8.67 lbs.
Reeling in the five fish limit, Mauro Megalo and Steve Oskey snagged third place with a total fish weight of 17.70 lbs.
Fish caught during the tournament are released back into the lake.
Canyon Lake residents who enjoy fishing and want to improve their skills in a friendly, competitive environment are invited to join the Bassmasters Club.
Monthly fishing tournaments are held from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first Saturday that follows the first Wednesday. Summer tournaments are held from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. For more information, contact Chuck Moreno at 951-837-5941.
