The City of Lake Elsinore has announced that Boot Barn, one of the nation’s leading retailers of western and work-related footwear, apparel, and accessories, is coming to the Lake Elsinore Marketplace on Central Avenue, adjacent to Costco.
The new Boot Barn will occupy a previously vacant salon space, bringing new activity and a new retail option to the commercial center. The store will offer an extensive selection of boots, workwear, western apparel, hats, accessories, and outdoor-inspired merchandise for men, women, and children.
“Boot Barn is a great fit for Lake Elsinore and reflects the types of quality retailers our residents have been asking to see in the community,” Councilmember Brian Tisdale said. “This announcement also shows what can happen when the city listens to its residents, understands the market and works proactively with property owners, brokers and businesses, and regularly attends retail trade shows like ICSC to help encourage the right opportunities for Lake Elsinore.”
With the city’s strong connections to action sports, outdoor recreation, motorsports, and western lifestyle, city officials say Boot Barn will allow residents and workers to purchase specialized footwear and apparel closer to home while helping capture retail sales that might otherwise leave the community, which provides vital services for residents and businesses.
With the establishment of a dedicated Economic Development Department, the city now has staff focused on business attraction, business retention, tourism, development assistance, and strengthening relationships with commercial property owners, brokers, and prospective tenants.
“Economic development is rarely the result of one phone call or one meeting,” Economic Development Director Gina Gonzalez said. “It requires consistent outreach, strong relationships, market knowledge, and staff who can help businesses navigate a complex process. Boot Barn’s decision to come to Lake Elsinore is a win because it activates vacant space, responds directly to resident demand, and strengthens an existing commercial center.”
The target opening for Boot Barn is early fall 2026.
