The Canyon Lake USTA 18 and under boys team won the Inland Empire League, earning a spot at Sectionals next month where they will play the top teams from Orange County, San Diego County, and Los Angeles County.
The two-day tournament will be held on December 18 and 19 in Palm Desert. Two single and two double matches will be played per team. The winning team at Sectionals will go on to compete at Nationals.
The Canyon Lake team is coached by Bobby Kielty and made of 7 players, mostly from Canyon Lake. “I’m extremely proud of the boys,” Kielty said. “They played very hard throughout the year and weekly. They played great matches to win the league and move on to Sectionals.”
