Canyon Lake 9-11 Tribute and Patriot Day schedule announced

Co-hosted by the City of Canyon Lake, the Canyon Lake POA, and the Veterans and First Responders Club, this year’s 9-11 Tribute and Patriot Day includes a dedication, speeches, a blue light tribute, a bell ringing, a golf cart parade, live music, food trucks, and club and merchant vendors.

The event consists of morning and afternoon tributes. The morning tribute will take place at the Veterans Memorial Park in the Towne Center. The afternoon tribute will start at East Port Park with a golf cart parade, followed by activities at the lodge.

The morning schedule is as follows:

  • 8:30 a.m.: Welcome
  • 8:35 a.m.: Pledge of Allegiance
  • 8:40 a.m.: Invocation
  • 8:46 a.m.: First Bell Ringing for Flight 11
  • 8:47 a.m.: Dedication and Explanation of Bell Ringing
  • 9:03 a.m.: Second Bell Ringing for Flight 175
  • 9:04 a.m.: Mayor’s speech
  • 9:20 a.m.: Fire Chief’s speech
  • 9:37 a.m.: Third Bell Ringing for Flight 77
  • 9:38 a.m.: Nation Anthem, Bagpipes, and Moment of Silence
  • 10:03 a.m.: Fourth Bell Ringing

The tribute will continue in the afternoon with a golf cart parade starting at East Port Park and traveling down Canyon Lake Drive to the lodge where there will be music, guest speakers, vendors, and more.

The afternoon schedule is as follows:

  • 2:30 p.m.: Golf Cart Parade
  • 3 p.m.: Club and Merchant Vendor Booths
  • 4 p.m.: Live Music
  • 7 p.m.: Blue Light Tribute and Guest Speakers
  • 8:45 p.m.: UC Riverside Bagpipe Band
  • 9:11 p.m.: Moment of Silence

The Veterans and First Responsors Club is seeking donations, sponsorships, and volunteers for this event. Funds raised with go toward the cost of the event and a permanent 9-11 memorial at the Canyon Lake Fire Station.
