The Canyon Lake Bassmasters Club held its monthly fishing tournament on April 9 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Twenty-eight anglers in 14 boats competed for their best five fish.
The team of Damon Hole and Keith Bridges took first place with five fish weighing a total of 18.88 lbs. Hole also earned the “Big Fish” title with a bass weighing 5.58 lbs.
The team of Kevin Hugo and Dave Lester took second place with a total fish weight of 18.38 lbs. Jonathan Kemble and Casey Engel reeled reeled in third place with a total fish weight of 17.48. lbs.
All fish were released back into the lake after being weighed.
Canyon Lakers who enjoy fishing and want to improve their skills in a friendly, competitive environment are invited to join the Bassmasters Club. Monthly tournaments are held from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first Saturday that follows the first Wednesday.
