Anglers battle it out in Canyon Lake Bassmasters’ monthly tournament

Rich Tucker and Nolan Cromwell clinched first place in the Canyon Lake Bassmasters Club monthly tournament on Saturday, May 4, with an impressive haul of 23.76 lbs., including the tournament’s biggest fish at 11.34 lbs.

Mauro Megalo and Dave Brittenham secured second place with 22.25 lbs., while Damon Hole, fishing solo, reeled in third place with 19.71 lbs. His big fish weighed 5.38 lbs.

All fish caught were released back into the lake after weigh-in.

Canyon Lake residents who enjoy fishing and want to improve their skills in a friendly, competitive environment are invited to join the Bassmasters Club. Boat ownership is not required. Monthly fishing tournaments are held from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first Saturday that follows the first Wednesday. Summer tournaments are held from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Open tournaments are held monthly from February through November. For more information, contact Chuck Moreno at 951-837-5941.
