
The Canyon Lake Bassmasters Club will be hosting its 38th Annual Kids Fishing Derby, set to take place on Saturday, September 14. All kids ages five to 15 are invited to reel in fish for trophies and prizes.
This is a free event; however, parents must register their children and sign a waiver. Registration can be completed online before for event or in person on the day of the derby between 5:30 and 7 a.m. at Holiday Harbor Park.
Participants are allowed to fish anywhere on the lake from 6 to 11 a.m., with a maximum of three fish per species (bluegill, crappie, catfish, and carp) allowed to be weighed in. Bass are excluded. Participants who catch bass should release them back into the lake.
Weigh-in will take place between 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Holiday Harbor Park. Participants who are not in line by noon will not be eligible for trophies.

Complimentary hot dogs, drinks, chips, and snow cones will be served at noon.
The trophy presentation will begin at 1 p.m. Trophies will be presented in three age groups. Every participant will receive a prize through a free raffle. Participants must be present to receive prizes. Additionally, there will be two adult raffles. Ticket purchase is required for the adult raffle.
