Canyon Lake residents are invited to decorate their golf carts and join in on the 12th Annual Street Carts Golf Cart Parade and Toy Drive on Sunday, December 4.

The parade lineup will start at 4 p.m. on Blue Bird Drive. At 5 p.m., the parade will travel along Canyon Lake Drive to East Port Park where there will be music, food, and a presentation of trophies for the best-decorated golf carts in the categories of Best Theme, Most Outrageous, and Best Lights.

Spectators are invited to line the parade route with their chairs and cheer on the carts as they drive by.

At the end of the parade at East Port Park, Cali Grub will have hot apple cider, cocoa, coffee, popcorn, and funnel cakes available for purchase. Baja Dogs will be offering custom hot dogs, nachos, fries, and tacos. California Street Food will be offering chicken wings, macaroni and cheese, and more.

Participants are asked to donate an unwrapped toy for the Toy Drive. Spectators are also encouraged to donate a toy. The toys will be collected at the lineup on Blue Bird Drive and at the end of the parade at East Port Park.

Those who wish to drop off their toy donations earlier may do so by placing them in the collection box at 22055 Mustang Ct. The toys will be donated to International Christian Adoptions and Victory Calvary Chapel.

There will be no street parking on Canyon Lake Drive South/North (adjacent to the parade route) on December 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. Vehicles and golf carts may park on the opposite side of the street or on side streets during this time frame. During the parade, vehicle traffic will be reduced to 5 mph and vehicle traffic will not be permitted to pass the parade.

Due to this being an evening event, and for the safety of the spectators and participants, distributing any items such as candy or promotional items on the parade route is prohibited.

The Christmas Golf Cart Parade and Toy Drive started in 2011 with approximately 20 golf carts. In 2020, more than 150 golf carts participate in the parade and more than 500 toys were donated. For more information about this event, email Mike Shroyer at [email protected].
