The Street Carts of Canyon Lake Golf Cart Club invites residents to decorate their golf carts and participate in the 11th Annual Christmas Golf Cart Parade and Toy Drive on Sunday, December 5.
Golf carts will line up at 4 p.m. along Blue Bird Drive. The parade will start at 5 p.m. The parade will travel down Canyon Lake Drive to East Port Park where awards will be presented for the best-decorated carts in the categories of Best Lights, Best Theme, and Most Outrageous.
Participants are asked to donate an unwrapped toy. The donations will be collected at the start of the parade. Participants may also drop off their donations in the Toy Drive donation box between November 5 and December 15 at 22055 Mustang Court. Toys will be donated to Victory Calvary Chapel.
Participants will be required to sign an entry waiver. The waivers will be available at the start of the parade and at the POA office prior to the parade.
Residents who are not participating in the parade are invited to line the parade route and cheer on the whimsically decorated golf carts as they pass by.
There will be no street parking on Canyon Lake Drive South/North (adjacent to the parade) on December 6 from 4 to 7 p.m. Vehicles may park on the opposite side of the street and on side streets. Vehicle traffic will be reduced to 5 mph during the parade.
The Christmas Golf Cart Parade and Toy Drive started in 2011 with approximately 20 golf carts. Last year, more than 150 golf carts participate in the parade and more than 500 toys were donated. For more information about this event, email Mike Shroyer at [email protected].
