City of Canyon Lake City Clerk Ana Sauseda is bidding farewell to the community. Sauseda has accepted a position with another city. Her final day of employment will be March 15.

Sauseda has been employed with the City of Canyon Lake since September 2018. In December 2019, she completed the Certified Municipal Clerk program and received official designation as a certified municipal clerk. She was promoted from deputy city clerk to city clerk on March 1, 2020.

“Working for the City of Canyon Lake has truly been the biggest joy and highlight of my career,” Sauseda said. “I’m eternally grateful for the opportunity that was given to me and for all the lessons learned along the way. I will miss everyone here but cherish all the wonderful memories from these last four and a half years. Thank you to the city council both past and present, city staff, and to the community for embracing me and allowing me to be a part of the amazing things the city has accomplished.”

Sheryl Garcia has been hired to serve as the new city clerk. She will assume her position as city clerk on March 15. Garcia comes from the City of La Puente, where she served as the city clerk for nine years.
