The Canyon Lake City Council on Wednesday adopted its goals for the 2023 calendar year. The purpose of the annual goals session is to identify and adopt a list of agreed-upon priorities for the year. These goals help to guide the council and staff to ensure that time and other resources are allocated in a manner consistent with the council’s shared objectives for the city.
The council adopted the following 12 goals for 2023:
- Invest in public safety.
- Secure the long-term use of Fire Station 1 for the Canyon Lake Fire Department.
- Implement new fees per the approved Fee Study.
- Continue pursuit of BLM land acquisition and annexation of developable parcels.
- Successfully implement/manage the city’s first commercial cannabis permit.
- Establish events coordinator position and volunteer list and enhance existing city events.
- Continue execution of the ARPA Work Program.
- Implement the Local Road Safety Plan once grant funding is secure.
- Begin to develop marketing for the Towne Center Specific Plan for development.
- Continue to find ways to support local businesses and the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce.
- Explore options for solidifying and diversifying city revenues.
- Build and maintain relationships regional and with the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association.
