The Canyon Lake City Council honored Perry Beggs as Citizen of the Month.

A Canyon Lake resident since 2004, Beggs has served on the Canyon Lake Car Club Board of Directors in some capacity for the last 14 years, including seven years as president and four years as vice president.

For the last four years, Beggs has served as chairman of the Canyon Lake Car Show. Held annually in October, the Car Show draws nearly 1,000 car enthusiasts each year.

“Although I was recognized, I want to acknowledge the committee leaders and the team that put the show together,” Beggs said. “We put in this effort because 100 percent of the proceeds go to local charities. The annual Car Show is one of the biggest and most anticipated events in Canyon Lake, and we love putting on this event for the community.”

The Canyon Lake Citizen of the Month initiative was created in January 2021 to honor Canyon Lake residents for their service to the community. Each awardee is recognized by the mayor with a certificate.

Community members are encouraged to nominate Citizens of the Month by submitting their names and a short paragraph detailing their good work to [email protected]. Residents of all ages are eligible to be nominated for this award.
