During Wednesday’s meeting of the Canyon Lake City Council, the city honored Kim Pauley as the December Citizen of the Month, recognizing her dedication and contributions to enhancing the holiday experience for the community.

Pauley and her family welcome thousands of visitors to their home each year with their elaborate Halloween Haunted Mansion tour and award-winning Christmas Gingerbread House display. Months of planning and hundreds of hours of work go into creating an unforgettable experience for all who attended.

Adding to the thrill, the Pauleys recruit local teens as scare actors to leap out from the darkness to frighten guests. These teen actors help to bring the Haunted Mansion vision to life. On designated nights, the family offers visitors free hot cocoa and treats, creating memorable holiday traditions for the community.

As part of this year’s Halloween tour, Pauley organized a raffle that raised more than $800, which she generously donated to the nonprofit Mermaids of Canyon Lake Club.

Pauley’s efforts embody the spirit of giving and highlight her commitment to making Canyon Lake a festive and welcoming community.
