The Canyon Lake City Council recently recognized 14-year-old Logan Stuart for achieving the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout and earning 142 merit badges. A middle school student, Stuart has already achieved what many Scouts work years toward.
The Eagle Scout rank, awarded through the Scouts BSA program under Scouting America, is the highest rank attainable, with only about 4% of Scouts earning this distinction.
A key requirement for reaching Eagle Scout is completing a service project that the Scout plans, organizes, leads, and manages. The project is an opportunity for the Scout to demonstrate leadership of others while performing a project for the benefit of any religious institution, any school, or their community.
For his Eagle Scout Service Project, Stuart built a recycling station at Canyon Lake Community Church, where bottles and cans are collected to help support Mission Mexico. The project not only encourages environmental responsibility but also helps support the construction of homes for families in need.
As a preschooler, Stuart attended Canyon Lake Community Church, where he said he saw firsthand the positive impact the church has on people in need. That early experience inspired him to step in and give back through the church.
The Canyon Lake City Council presented Stuart with a certificate of recognition during its March 11 meeting, honoring both his accomplishments and his commitment to service.
Stuart is a member of Troop 2011, which is chartered by VFW Post 1508 in Wildomar. Troop 2011 includes Scouts who reside in Canyon Lake, Lake Elsinore, and Wildomar.
