The Canyon Lake City Council nomination period has been extended to August 12 due to Councilman Bonner not filing nomination papers before the initial deadline. By law, the nomination period must be extended if an incumbent doesn’t file before the initial deadline.
Three of the five seats on the Canyon Lake City Council are up for election on November 3 when the four-year terms of Jordan Ehrenkranz, Larry Greene, and Randy Bonner expire.
Dale Welty, Paul Kakis, James Randle, incumbent Jordan Ehrenkranz, and incumbent Larry Greene have filed papers, according to City Clerk Ana Sauseda.
Candidates interested in running for City Council must be a resident of Canyon Lake and registered to vote. Those interested in running should contact Ana Sauseda at 951-244-8547 to schedule an appointment.
