The Canyon Lake City Council recently recognized sisters Carly Von Bargen and Cayti Laughery for their work with youth through their Canyon Lake-based business, JDI Dance Company.

Since launching in March 2005 with 30 students, JDI has experienced remarkable growth, now serving 925 students ranging from 18 months to 18 years old. Von Bargen and Laughery have cultivated an inclusive environment at JDI, ensuring students feel welcomed and at home.

“We’re truly blessed with the best community,” Von Bargen said. “We are so big on no matter how many kids God sends our way, that every single one, feels special, seen, valued, and heard and they’re not just another number. We have a great team that believes in all the same stuff as us and we just keep thanking God for all he has blessed us with and this incredible community that we get to be a part of.”

JDI’s dedication to fostering a supportive community has earned them recognition not only from the Canyon Lake City Council but also from the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce, which named JDI April Business of the Month.
