Canyon Lake Community Gardeners Club announces 2024 events

The Canyon Lake Community Gardeners Club has organized a series of engaging and informative events for 2024, including harvest trades, workshops, and garden tours.

Kicking off these events, the club will be hosting a Harvest Trade on Sunday, February 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. at the new Community Garden on Schooner Dr. Community members are invited to bring their homegrown fruits, veggies, and plants to trade.

The Harvest Trade will be followed by a Succulent Wreath Workshop on Saturday, February 24, at 2 p.m. at the Eastport Activities Building. In this hands-on workshop, attendees will use grapevine wreaths, moss, and live succulents to create a one-of-a-kind succulent wreath to take home.

A Spring Planting Workshop is planned for Saturday, March 23, at 2 p.m. at the Community Garden.

April’s events include a Fairy Garden Workshop on Saturday, April 6, at 10 a.m. at Sierra Park and an Earth Day Celebration on Sunday, April 21, at 10 a.m. at the Community Garden. A garden tour is also planned for April.  

May’s events include a Fairy Garden Workshop on Saturday, May 11, at 10 a.m. at Sierra Park and a membership meeting and garden tour on Saturday, May 18.

Harvest Trades will be held at the Community Garden on Saturday, June 8, at 9 a.m. and Sunday, September 1, at 9 a.m.

Fall events include a Planting Workshop on Saturday, October 5, at 4 p.m. at the Community Garden, a Pumpkin Succulent Workshop on Saturday, October 19, at 2 p.m. at the Eastport Activities Building, and a Succulent Pinecone Workshop on Sunday, December 1, at 3 p.m. at the Eastport Activities Building.

The club is seeking community members who would like to host a home garden tour in February, June, August, October, or December.

The Community Gardeners Club was formed in February 2022. The club was approved as a POA sanctioned club in May 2022 and granted 501(c)3 status in June 2022.
