The Canyon Lake Community Gardeners Club is seeking donations for its upcoming garage sale fundraiser. The sale will be held from August 19 through August 21.
The club is seeking used items such as decorations, books, clothing, glassware, sports equipment, furniture, and household items. Large or broken appliances will not be accepted.
Donations will be accepted through Monday, August 15. To arrange for a drop-off, call 951-609-6723.
The Community Gardeners Club was formed in February and approved as a POA sanctioned club in May. The state granted the club 501(c)3 status in June. Donations are tax-deductible.
Funds raised from the garage sale will go toward the club’s efforts in building a community garden. The club is currently putting together a petition for the unused land between Canyon Lake Drive North and Outrigger Drive to be developed into a “passive” park that would include a walking path, landscaping, community gardens, and a children’s garden.
“We’ve been working with the FPC Committee to propose a concept plan that would have these features, as well as a walking path that connects this unused space together with Outrigger Park and Evans Park,” club founder Kelly Lopez said. “The total distance of the path would be approximately one mile.
