Canyon Lake community leaders, business owners volunteer to be ‘dunked’ for a cause

The Mermaids of Canyon Lake Club invites the community to “dunk” community leaders and business owners during Fiesta Day on May 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The dunk tank will be located near the stairs in front of the lodge.

In a display of community spirit and philanthropy, community leaders and business owners will take turns in a dunk tank, inviting the community to purchase balls to dunk them. Balls can be purchased for $1 each or five for $3. All proceeds will go toward charitable causes the club supports.

Councilman Jeremy Smith will be the first volunteer in the dunk tank at 10 a.m. Joining Councilman Smith will be Mayor Dale Welty, POA President Bill Van Vleet, Chamber President John Grande, Brianna Hemsley of the Canyon Lake Fire Department, Yacht Club Commodore Rob Mora, Community Gardners Club President Chris Papavero, Councilwoman Jennifer Dain’s husband Dave Dain, and business owners Tony Schwarzman of Canyon Lake Mobile, Brian Hoffman of Hoffman’s Painting, Shannon Luna of PZA, and Realtor Kyler Battleson.
