Hundreds of residents and guests gathered at Holiday Harbor Park on Tuesday for Hope Lights the Night, a luminary event celebrating life and honoring those impacted by cancer.

Co-hosted by Michelle’s Place Cancer Resource Center and the Mermaids of Canyon Lake Club, Hope Lights the Night featured inspirational speeches, music, food trucks, and a Wall of Hope illuminating the evening with solidarity and support.

Attendees were invited to personalize a white bag in honor of someone impacted by cancer. Each bag included a candle. These bags were then positioned along the walkway in front of the stage, forming an illuminating Wall of Hope as the sun dipped below the horizon.

Canyon Lake City Council members, Canyon Lake firefighters, Riverside County District 2 Supervisor Karen Spiegel, and Michelle’s Place Cancer Resource Center founders Marilyn and Bill Watson were among those in attendance.

Throughout the evening, the sense of camaraderie was palpable as individuals from all walks of life joined forces to raise awareness. Whether sharing a moment of reflection by the luminaries or dancing to the music under the starry sky, each person present contributed to the collective message of hope and healing.

Hope Lights the Night served as a poignant reminder that even in the face of adversity, there is strength in unity and light in the darkest of times.
