Lawrence was recognized for donating 30 bicycles, benefitting Dream Center of Lake Elsinore, the Canyon Lake-based Helping Hands Group, and Boys and Girls Clubs of Inland Valley.
Lawrence, the owner of Bolder Electric, purchased 10 beach cruisers, 10 small BMX bicycles, and 10 medium BMX bicycles from Menifee Bicycles and spent two days assembling them with his staff.
Once assembled, 13 bicycles were donated to the Dream Center of Lake Elsinore, 10 bicycles were donated to the Helping Hands Group, and seven bicycles were donated to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Inland Valley
Last year, Lawrence donated 15 bicycles to the same three organizations.
Lawrence is not the only family member to be honored by council. In September 2022, Lawrence’s wife, Jenniver, was recognized by the council for her donation of a 9/11 memorial bell stand, made to hold the city’s 9/11 tribute bell. The city commissioned her to create the stand, but feeling honored to be asked to create such a meaningful piece, Jenniver donated it.
The Canyon Lake Citizen of the Month initiative was created in January 2021 to honor Canyon Lake residents for their service to the community. Each awardee is recognized by the mayor with a certificate. Community members are encouraged to nominate Citizens of the Month by submitting their names and a short paragraph detailing their good work to [email protected]. Residents of all ages are eligible to be nominated for this award.
