Canyon Lake residents Debra and Chuck Sacks will be celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary on August 14. They were married in 1993 in a wedding ceremony held at the Canyon Lake Lodge. Their wedding party arrived at the ceremony in boats.
The Sacks have three children, Jack, 39, James, 38, and Erica, 36, and one grandchild, Beck, 23 months. All three of their children were raised in Canyon Lake. Jack currently resides in Oregon and spends much of his time traveling, James owns IMG Motorsports, an off-road company, and Erica owns Waypoint Navigation School.
Prior to relocating to Canyon Lake, Debra resided in Lake Elsinore and Chuck resided in San Bernardino.
The Sacks are competitive tournament slalom waterskiers. Chuck joined the Canyon Lake Ski Club in 1983 and Debra joined in 1991. Due to a back injury, Chuck stopped competing about 10 years ago. Nowadays, Chuck drives the boat and coaches.

Chuck is a semi-retired business owner, who owned California Skier for 36 years. He sold the business in 2020 but continues to work at 13th Floor Wakeboard Towers, a company he founded about 25 years ago.
Debra is a retired educator and former principal for the County Office of Education. She also taught in Lake Elsinore Unified School District and Temecula Valley Unified School District. She is currently employed as a new teacher coach for educators earning their teaching credentials in California.
In addition to her involvement in the Ski Club, Debra was recently installed as the secretary of the Canyon Lake Woman’s Club.
Sticking to their anniversary tradition, Debra and Chuck will be celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary on their boat, Sacksea, for a week in Avalon. They plan to fish, golf, and hike.
