Deputies screened 1195 vehicles during a DUI Checkpoint conducted on Friday, February 28, between 8 p.m. and 3 a.m. at the intersection of Railroad Canyon Road and Sorrel Lane in the City of Canyon Lake.
The operation resulted in four arrests for driving under the influence, 23 citations, 13 citations for unlicensed/suspended drivers, and one citation for a suspended license. Seven vehicles were towed.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
