Construction on Canyon Lake’s Eastport Sidewalk Project is scheduled to begin Thursday, June 18, with the removal of trees located in front of the Eastport Villas.
The Canyon Lake Property Owners Association’s (CLPOA) Recreation Committee identified a pedestrian accessibility concern near the east exit, where residents walking to the mailboxes, dog park, and other nearby amenities often had to travel within the roadway or golf cart lane due to the lack of a designated walking path.
To improve pedestrian access, the CLPOA will be installing a new walking path within the existing right-of-way.
The project is designed to address an existing walking hazard while improving pedestrian access and the overall appearance of the area. Once completed, the new walking path will provide a safer route for residents and visitors traveling toward the East Port exit.
Following the tree removal, grading work is expected to begin the following week and is anticipated to take between seven and 10 days to complete.
Additional landscaping improvements are planned after the Fourth of July.
