“It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend,” Canyon Lake Guild President Bonnie Dubbs said of the recent passing of member Art Zasio.

“Our Deepest Condolences to Dee and their family. Art was a privilege to know and love. The time that Art spent in our lives was memorable and full of joy. He was an integral part of our community and will be missed dearly.”

Zasio contributed to the Guild in a many ways. He served as the Guild President from 2006 to 2015, transformed the Guild from classical music to a more eclectic set of music, including Broadway, swing, jazz, country, and rock, served as the program director in charge of music group selections, introduced “Dining Under the Stars” with live music at Holiday Harbor Park, coordinated the annual Marine Corps Band concert with the Homeowners Club, recruited numerous members, and was named Canyon Lake’s Citizen of the Year primarily for his work with the Guild.

“Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories., Dubbs said. ”He will be sorely missed.”
