Canyon Lake Fire, Cal Fire respond to residential fire

The Canyon Lake Fire Department and Cal Fire Engine 94 responded to a residential fire this evening around 4:30 p.m. in the 22000 block of Bronc Court.

The fire was contained to the chimney, according to Fire Chief Jeff LaTendresse. The swift response from the fire crews prevented embers from spreading and starting additional fires.

No injuries were reported.

Chimney fires can pose a serious risk to homes, especially during the colder months when fireplaces are in frequent use. Fire officials recommend regular chimney inspections and cleaning to prevent creosote buildup, which is a leading cause of chimney fires.
