Members of the Canyon Lake Quilters presented Fire Chief Jeff Latendresse with a handmade patriotic quilt in appreciation of his service to the country. LaTendresse served in the U.S. Air Force for three years as an active duty service member, two years as a reserve, and one year as an inactive reserve.

The presentation of the quilt was held during Wednesday’s meeting of the Canyon Lake City Council and came as a surprise to LaTendresse.

The mission of the Canyon Lake Quilters is to honor and thank local veterans and active duty service members for their service by presenting them with handmade patriotic quilts. The recipients are chosen by nominations and through free raffles.

To nominate a veteran or active duty service member to receive a patriotic quilt or to join the Quilters in its mission, contact Ronda McCord at 714-609-0581.
