On November 8, Canyon Lake Fire Chief Jeff LaTendresse updated the public with the department’s monthly reports for October.
Station 1 responded to 86 calls in October. They include one fire response, 62 rescue/EMS incidents, 10 service calls, 12 good intent calls, and one false alarms.
The average dispatch to en route response time was 0.56 minutes, en route to arrival time was 5.48 minutes, and dispatch to arrival time was 6.34 minutes. These times represent the average of all CODE 3 EMS responses in the city. They do not include auto/mutual aid incidents.
The 90 percent fractile dispatch to en route response time was 1.27 minutes, en route to arrival time was 7.45 minutes, and dispatch to arrival time was 8.32 minutes.
Riverside County/Cal Fire responded to the City of Canyon Lake one time during the month of October. Canyon Lake engines responded to 15 incidents outside the city. They include 11 in the City of Lake Elsinore, three in the City of Menifee, and one in the City of Perris.
So far this year, Riverside County/Cal Fire responded to 80 incidents in the City of Canyon Lake. Canyon Lake has responded to 149 incidents outside the city.
A Shift trained 27 hours, B Shift trained 28 hours, and C Shift trained 31 hours.
Community outreach and education included the Car show, Rocktoberfest, Story Time at the library, show-and-tell at Canyon Lake Community Church, Parade of Frights, State of the City Address, Senior Center Holiday Boutique, and breast cancer awareness.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Canyon Lake firefighters wore pink shirts throughout the month of October to raise awareness and emphasize the importance of early detection. In addition, firefighters wore camouflage uniform hats to signify the department’s support for military veterans and active duty service members.
