During the August 13 meeting of the Canyon Lake City Council, Fire Chief Jeff LaTendresse presented the Canyon Lake Fire Department’s reports for June and July.
June’s report highlighted 79 calls for service. They include three fire calls, 49 rescue/EMS incidents, eight service calls, fifteen good intent calls, and four false alarms/false calls.
The average dispatch to en route response time was 0.43 minutes, en route to arrival time was 5.39 minutes, and dispatch to arrival time was 6.22 minutes. These times represent the average of all Code 3 EMS responses in the city. They do not include auto/mutual aid incidents.
The 90 percent fractile dispatch to en route response time was 1.24 minutes, en route to arrival time was 8.29 minutes, and dispatch to arrival time was 9.02 minutes.
July’s report highlighted 84 calls for service. They include seven fire calls, 43 rescue/EMS incidents, one hazard call, six service calls, 24 good intent calls, and three false alarms/false calls.
The average dispatch to en route response time was 0.49 minutes, en route to arrival time was 5.21 minutes, and dispatch to arrival time was 6.01 minutes. These times represent the average of all Code 3 EMS responses in the city. They do not include auto/mutual aid incidents.
The 90 percent fractile dispatch to en route response time was 1.16 minutes, en route to arrival time was 7.33 minutes, and dispatch to arrival time was 8.30 minutes.
Cal Fire responded to the City of Canyon Lake twice in July. The Canyon Lake Fire Department responded to 16 incidents outside the city. They include 15 in the Lake Elsinore zip code area and one in the City of Menifee.
During the Fourth of July weekend, the department staffed a second paramedic engine company for Friday and Saturday. From 8 a.m. on Friday to 8 a.m. on Saturday, the department responded to 10 incidents. They include three fire responses that were all related to fireworks, four medical responses, one traffic accident, one false alarm, and one public service call. Saturday’s call volume was less.
