Canyon Lake Fire Chief Jeff LaTendresse on Wednesday presented the public with statistics for the month of December 2022.
Station 1 responded to 79 calls in December. They include six fire calls, 54 medical calls, five service calls, nine good intent calls, two special incident calls, and three false alarms.
The average dispatch to en route response time was 1.10 minutes, the average en route to arrival time was 4.51 minutes, and the average dispatch to arrival time was 5.54 minutes.
Fire response included a cooking fire on December 3 in Canyon Hills, a structure fire on December 5 in Meadowbrook, a vehicle fire on December 19 in Canyon Lake, a cooking fire on December 24 in Canyon Lake, a structure fire on December 24 in Canyon Lake, and a trash fire on December 30 in Meadowbrook.
Canyon Lake engines responded to 9 incidents in the City of Lake Elsinore, two in Menifee, and two in Good Hope. Riverside County/Cal Fire responded into the City of Canyon Lake seven times.
Training in December focused on vertical ventilation, positive pressure ventilation, EMT and paramedic continuing education training, fire behavior/transitional attack, hose evolutions and 35′ ladder, and post incident review.
Firefighters interacted with the community at the Spark of Love Toy Drive, Winter Wonderland, Holiday Golf Cart Parade and Toy Drive, Roadrunners Club Toy Drive, and the Lions Club Toy Drive.
