On June 14, Canyon Lake Fire Chief Jeff LaTendresse updated the public with the department’s monthly report for May.
Station 1 responded to 90 calls. They include four fire responses, 70 rescue/EMS incidents, three service calls, seven good intent calls, two hazardous condition calls, and four false alarms.
The four fire responses included a trash fire in Meadowbrook, a vegetation fire in Thermal, a vegetation fire in Lake Elsinore, and a garage fire in Canyon Lake.
The average dispatch to en route response time was 0.52 minutes, en route to arrival time was 5.02 minutes, and dispatch to arrival time was 5.52 minutes.
The 90 percent fractile dispatch to en route response time was 1.28 minutes, en route to arrival time was 7.07 minutes, and dispatch to arrival time was 8.02 minutes.
Canyon Lake engines responded to 11 incidents outside the city. They include nine incidents in Lake Elsinore, one incident in Menifee, and one incident in Thermal. So far this year, Canyon Lake has responded to 68 incidents outside the city.
Riverside County/Cal Fire responded into the City of Canyon Lake seven times in May, for a total of 34 responses this year.
A Shift trained 27 hours, B Shift trained 30 hours, and C Shift trained 35 hours. Training focused on department wildland training, auto extrication, EMS drownings, fire simulations, and live fire training at Ben Clark.
Some of the events firefighters participated in during the month of May include National Day of Prayer, Little League Closing Day, Movie Night at the Pool, Memorial Day, 9/11 Memorial Ribbon-Cutting, and Fiesta Day.
