The Canyon Lake Fire Department is celebrating the achievements of its Administrative Assistant/Analyst Bailey Ward, who graduated on Saturday from California State University, San Bernardino, with a master’s degree in public administration. Ward also earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a bachelor’s degree in political science.
A city employee since 2020, Ward served as an intern and an office specialist prior to her current role at the fire department. When the city started forming its new fire department, Ward was handpicked by Chief Jeff LaTendresse to serve as the department’s administrative assistant/analyst.
In her current role, Ward serves as the initial contact/resource person for the fire department, screens calls and visitors, sorts and distributes mail and correspondence, performs data entry, participates in aspects of financial and budgetary record keeping, purchasing, and other routine transactions to assist in the administrative support of departmental programs, and checks, maintains, and tabulates statistical data and records.
