Canyon Lake Fire Department hiring reserve firefighters

The Canyon Lake Fire Department is seeking qualified men and women to join its team as reserve firefighters. The department aims to fill and maintain 15 to 20 positions and then establish a current eligibility list of qualified candidates.

Reserve firefighters respond to fire, medical, environmental, hazardous material, weather, and disaster-related emergencies; initiate emergency care to sick and/or injured patients; render first aid and lifesaving techniques; engage in fire prevention, suppression, and salvage activities; perform inspection and code enforcement activities; conduct public education session regarding fire, emergency, and disaster practices and procedures; maintains fire station; may drive fire department equipment; attends instruction sessions related to the job; participates in a variety of training exercises; and performs other special projects or other related duties.

Applicants must be 18 years old, attend at least four monthly training sessions (held on the third Saturday of each month), and commit to a minimum of two shifts per month.

Reserve firefighters receive a stipend of $50 per 24-hour shift. For more information, click here.
