The Canyon Lake Fire Department is offering a free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training workshop for Canyon Lake residents from February 20 through February 22 at City Hall.
The CERT program is designed to educate people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and train them in basic disaster response skills.
Participants will learn crucial techniques, including fire safety, search and rescue techniques, and disaster medical operations.
The training emphasizes personal preparedness so participants can protect themselves and assist others. By completing this workshop, participants will gain the knowledge and confidence to help their neighbors and community during times of crisis.
Each participant will receive a backpack filled with emergency safety supplies. Upon completion of the three-day workshop, a certificate of completion will be awarded.
Attendance for all three days of training is required. Training hours are from 6 to 10 p.m. on February 20 and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on February 21 and February 22.
