In response to the Canyon Lake Fire Department responding to two chimney fires during the first two weeks of January, and several others in 2024, the department is encouraging residents to have their chimneys inspected annually.
The department is urging residents to maintain, inspect, and clean their chimneys. In addition to annual inspections, the department recommends regular cleaning, keeping fireplace vents and areas around the chimney unobstructed, and never leaving fires unattended to help prevent chimney fires.
