The Canyon Lake Patriotic Quilters presented Canyon Lake firefighter/paramedic Brett Healey with a 9/11-themed quilt during Canyon Lake’s 9/11 Tribute on Patriot Day.
The Patriotic Quilters created the special quilt depicting three firefighters raising the U.S. flag at the World Trade Center, following the September 11, 2001, attacks.
Healey won the quilt in a free raffle held exclusively for Canyon Lake firefighters. The names of the department’s firefighters were placed into a box, and Healey’s name was selected.
Healey is a firefighter/paramedic who who has been serving with the Canyon Lake Fire Department for about six months.
The quilt served as a heartfelt tribute to the men and women who answered the call on 9/11 and to the first responders who continue to serve and protect their communities today.
