Canyon Lake Girl Scout Troop 438 accepting food donations for community service project

Canyon Lake Girl Scout Troop 438 is hosting a reverse advent calendar community service project from November 27 through December 20. The Troop’s goal is to feed 50 families for Christmas.

Troop 438 will be collecting the following items on the following dates:

  • November 27: box of cereal
  • November 28: canned fruit
  • November 29: macaroni and cheese
  • November 30: canned veggies
  • December 1: canned meat
  • December 2: box of potatoes
  • December 3: peanut butter
  • December 4: box of crackers
  • December 5: dessert mix
  • December 6: canned veggies
  • December 7: canned fruit
  • December 8: pasta
  • December 9: spaghetti sauce
  • December 10: oatmeal
  • December 11: powdered milk
  • December 12: rice
  • December 13: canned meat
  • December 14: soup
  • December 15: beans
  • December 16: applesauce
  • December 17: box of stuffing
  • December 18: canned green beans
  • December 19: cranberry sauce
  • December 20: canned sweet potatoes

Donations may be dropped off at any of the following Canyon Lake locations: 23272 Wild Rice Dr, 29639 Longhorn Dr., 22940 Fawn Lake Pl., and 30651 Champion Dr. A pick-up can also be arranged by texting 714-425-9780.

“The donations can be dropped off on the designated days or all at one time.” Troop Leader Sarah Card said. “Cash donations will also be accepted to purchase additional items. All items will be delivered to local food banks.”

Troop 438 is made up of Brownie-level Girl Scouts who reside in Canyon Lake. The Troop is led by Sarah Card and Desiree Carr. For more information, text 714-425-9780.
