The Canyon Lake Property Owners Association (CLPOA) has announced that Golden algae cell counts from the most recent sampling on July 10 were slightly higher than those recorded on June 25, but remain significantly lower than the elevated levels observed earlier in the summer on June 11.
According to the CLPOA, cell counts from the July 10 sampling ranged from 1,473 to 4,909 cells/mL. This marks a modest increase from the June 25 sampling, which recorded counts of 982 to 3,436 cells/mL. Both remain far below the peak levels seen on June 11, with counts reaching nearly 30,000 cells/mL.
The POA stated that it is collaborating with the Lake Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District and the Lake Elsinore & San Jacinto Watersheds Authority to evaluate a potential pilot algaecide treatment program, and that related costs are being compiled.
The lake remains open for recreational use. The latest lake water quality results are available on the POA website at www.clpoa.com/lakeconditions.
