Thousands of Canyon Lake residents and their guests lined Canyon Lake Drive on Sunday evening to experience the spectacular color, pageantry, and fun of festively-decorated golf carts parading in the 12th Annual Christmas Golf Cart Parade and Toy Drive. Hosted by the Street Carts of Canyon Lake, more than 110 whimsical golf carts participate in this year’s parade.
Led by the Canyon Lake Fire Department, the parade started on Blue Bird Drive, turned on Canyon Lake Drive, and ended at East Port where spectators could get a close-up look at the decorated golf carts and enjoy tasty eats from food vendors. Host and DJ Mike Shroyer provided the holiday music.
Nutcracker-themed trophies were awarded for the best-decorated golf carts. The Clark Griswold Award was presented to Brent Pyles for his smoke-blowing Polar Express cart.
