The Canyon Lake Guild wrapped up its season with a festive finale, hosting an evening filled with camaraderie, laughter, and shared moments at its annual membership dinner.
Held in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge, this semi-formal event reflected on the Guild’s achievements, gratitude, and 2024 schedule.
Adding a musical note to the celebration, the evening’s entertainment showcased the talents of award-winning multi-instrumentalist John Rankin.
Special surprise guests included founding member Dee Zasio and past president Ron Martel, who was presented with an appreciation award. Zasio, along with her late husband Art Zasio, Mavis and Marlo Schaffner, Ken and Dorothy Cable, Dr. Vick Knight, Audrey Barrows, Carol Vaughn, and Shirley Beauttas, is credited with founding the Guild in 2001. Martel served as president from 2018 through 2020.
President Bonnie Dubbs introduced the 2024 board of directors. Embarking on her fourth year as president, Dubbs is joined by the team of Larry Garland, vice president and operations director; Cindy Cameron, treasurer; Chris Papavero, publicity and security director; Shari Skidmore, secretary; Kasey Castillo, governance; and Brian Wood, membership director.
The Guild’s 2024 concert series will kick off on March 2 with a Frank Sinatra tribute performed by Matt Mauser.
The May 18 concert boasts Cash, Killer, and The King channeling the legendary Johnny Cash, alongside tributes to Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley, delivering a royal musical experience.
On July 13, the spotlight shifts to a tribute to country queens Carrie Underwood and Shania Twain, performed by All American Girl.
Harbor Fest 2024, a free concert at Holiday Harbor Park, will feature a homage to Bon Jovi, performed by Wanted.
Closing the season on October 19, the K-Tel All-Starts will transport the audience to the disco era, delivering the super hits of the 70s.
Tickets to all Guild concerts are on sale now and can be purchased online at PurplePass or in person at the POA office. Early ticket purchase is recommended, as Guild concerts are renowned for swiftly selling out.
General admission tickets cost $45. VIP cost $60. The concerts are held in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The concerts start at 7 p.m. A pre-concert reception for Guild members only starts at 5:30 p.m. in the downstairs room.
