The Canyon Lake Happy Camp restrooms reopened in time for the busy Memorial Day Weekend.
The restrooms feature new plumbing, electrical, countertops, drywall, tile, restroom, and shower stalls. The exterior received a full-face lift with a new roof, stucco, stone veneer, windows, a patio cover, doors, and walkways.
Path lighting, some shower and tile and grouting, landscaping, and clean-up work will be wrapped up this week, the POA said.
In September 2020, the POA Board of Directors approved the hiring of a design team to come up with a remodel design for the 37‐year‐old building. On February 1, 2022, the board approved $392,383.20 in funding for the much-needed renovation. Demolition began later that month.
The last renovation of the restrooms occurred in 1984. The new building has a modern look matching today’s POA building standards and city codes, including current accessibility compliance for ADA.
