To prepare for Canyon Lake’s Fiesta Day parade on May 23, horses from the Canyon Lake Equestrian Center will conduct a street condition test on Monday, May 18, at 4:45 p.m.
The practice session is expected to last approximately one hour and is designed to help familiarize the horses with parade conditions, including vehicle traffic, noise, and activity along the parade route.
During this time, traffic will be temporarily halted by a lead vehicle with lights. The horses will exit the equestrian center and turn right on Longhorn Drive, left on Hoofbeat Way, and continue following the route around Big Range Road before crossing over Longhorn Drive back to the equestrian center.
Held annually since 1973, Fiesta Day is considered the granddaddy of all Canyon Lake events, drawing thousands of residents and visitors each year for a day of community celebration. The parade will begin at 9 a.m. on Canyon Lake Drive North.
