Jeff Monson caught the tail end of this thunderstorm that passed over Canyon Lake on the afternoon of April 27. “As a retired U.S. Navy meteorologist, I can say with certainty, although I’ve lost my qualifications years ago, that this is a Cumulonimbus Mammatus cloud, fairly rare for this area,” Monson said.
