Canyon Lake residents got a rare glimpse of the Northern Lights, known officially as the Aurora Borealis, amid a powerful solar storm.
From Old Wrangler Road, resident Kylene Evans snapped this photo of the Northern Lights illuminating the sky over the north ski area on May 10. The dazzling phenomenon is caused by supercharged collisions of solar energy into the gas of Earth’s atmosphere.
