Canyon Lake in Pictures: Sky’s Reflection

From his lakefront home in Canyon Lake, Bill Van Vleet snapped this photo of the sky’s reflection on the lake. Van Vleet took the photo on Friday, September 6, at 6:52 a.m.

The sky’s reflection on a lake occurs due to the smooth, mirror-like surface of water, which reflects light. When the lake is calm, with minimal disturbances from wind or currents, the surface acts like a natural mirror. Factors such as the angle of sunlight, clean water, and sky conditions can enhance the reflection. The phenomenon is a combination of physics and environmental conditions.

Canyon Lake in Pictures is a regular feature that offers residents the opportunity to share their photos of Canyon Lake with our readers. To submit a photo for publication consideration, email your photo as a .jpg file to [email protected]. Include the full name of the photographer and a brief description of the photo.
